Additional information/FAQ’s:

What does my tuition cover?: Tuition for our programs is generally inclusive of all programming, including social learning and executive function programs, rooming, meals, snacks including those for special diets; amenities such as on camp special events or off-camp trips, canteen snacks, jobs program for upper camp; elective bus transport to the camp program in Honesdale or for weekenders; stay-overs between sessions or from travel to camp; towels and laundry services for bedding and clothing; and routine health center supplies, OTC medications routinely provided, and routine health visits. Plus, we hope, that awesome feeling of having success and fun!

Are there fees for things at camp like trips? NO. All your camper’s programming are included in the tuition. Some common additional costs a family might incur by attending one of our programs would include:

  1. Camper luggage transport to and from camp through camp trucking or mail services
  2. Purchasing Summit camp clothing for out-trips such as camp tshirt or sweatshirt
  3. Any funds you wish to provide for camper or traveler to spend on personal items on out trips or camp store
  4. Signing up for private tutoring in an academic area such as math or reading during the camp session
  5. Participating in the off camp horseback riding program

Can my teen do both camp and travel? Sure! Summit has all its program offerings scheduled so that our Campers and Travelers may take advantage of both our Travel Options and our Summer Camp Programs. This means that a camper can enroll in camp and then travel program or vice versa without disruption. However, no participant may sign up for more than 2 consecutive travel tours (it is just too tiring and exciting for anyone to do that).

Are there scholarships or other funding sources? Scholarships through our own fund, Special Summer, may cover up to 1/3 a cost of tuition. After this, we also accept outside funding sources- though do not have any connections or source to acquire them. Finally, we can make alternative payment arrangements than our traditional payment schedule. Any and all exceptions to tuition & payment schedules are at the discretion of the Senior Director.

Why is the cost so high? Summit is a premiere program for youth and teens that have special social and emotional development needs- meaning we provide a round-the-clock service that includes a diverse and exciting activity rotation on constantly updated facilities, special events and trips, intensive work on social learning and executive function development, an incredible, talented and extraordinarily large staff from all over the planet, full medical services and medication management, kosher meals and special diets for all variety of needs, and- perhaps most important- the high level of individual support our campers require in order to achieve success.

Notes for Travelers. Please note that pricing reflects group size of 25 members and smaller programs may require surcharge. Any ability to offer our Early Bird incentives in travel is based upon the overhead costs of the travel programs and cannot discount cash outlays for items such as airfares, hotels, meals, site visits and the like. The fees listed above are based upon the historical Summit Travel experience. Airlines and hotels may not have not yet set their prices for 2019 and we have not yet negotiated final pricing. However, in the past we have found that our fee estimates are very close to the final fees charged and should not vary in large measure from those listed below. There are no additional discounts for Travel for multiple sessions or in combination with Camp. All fees above are based on tour start from Newark International Airport (EWR). All itineraries, dates & fees as well as conditions of acceptance are subject to change based on requirements of travel subcontractors, airlines, fee changes and other circumstances in the best interests of Campers, Staff, Parents and the Management of Summit Camp LLC.
